Guilty Pleasures - Annie Lennox repost
Last night I re-kindled my love affair with Annie Lennox. That’s right, I said it. Guiltily pleasured charged, and I may as well come out with it. So I figured we could all use a little review of music that’s socially inappropriate (or enlightened) for our age.

Now I’ve been a sucker for Annie Lennox since I was dipping in my Jolly Jumper while moms was boogalooing to Eurythmics. Ya I might have been young, but I wasn’t stupid, and I soon fell victim to Annie’s smooth voice, 80’s fiya, and orange hair. From then onwards, I’d be a sucker for just about anything dropped by this diva of mine.
Jigga please, another blogger riding out Sweet Dreams?? No sucka.. I said Jolly Jumper and that means I’m OG Eurythmics… but I will hit you with two choice remixes from Chew Fu (Palms Out) and Vid Kids (forget where I gnarred this, but the kiddies roll deep).
Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams (Chew Fu Refix)
Vid Kids - Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)
Back to binnis. Sweet dreams isn’t the only bangeroo Eurythmics pressed to vinyl. Amongst the great ones, Who’s that Girl tickles my fancies the most. It’s prolly the meanest shit of the time. Give it a try and you’ll understand.

Eurythmics - Who’s That Girl

Right by your Side is a close runner-up - only the chosen one would have the vision lace the 80’s pop scene with the steel drums. Little did we know some tin-foiled tooth fool named Soulja Boy would try the same for the Dirty in the double00s, and make it work.

Eurythmics - Right By Your Side
And now… the grand daddy of all guilty pleasures. I get sweaty just thinking about this beast. So freaknasty it couldn’t even drop under Eurythmics name — Annie took charge.

Annie Lennox - No More I Love You
DJ B.Cause - Annie Lennox + Paper Planes (B.Cause Party Break)

Thanks to Annie Lennox for being a natural born killer on the mic, Chew Fu for being next to blow, and to b.cause for his homage to the great one.

I’m a new reader to your blog, and after reading your post about the Eurythmics in May…I thought you might like this… You may already be aware of this mix, but it is by Dave Stewart himself of the Eurythmics and I still play this regularily in my sets…it is from my own vinyl collection, and I’ve recorded it with no EQ bias, and have tried to keep it as neutral as possible, you may be able to find a better copy (CD source maybe)…Dope ‘Old Skool’ from 1990…
